Setting boundaries is healthy. Be assertive and direct when communicating your needs and wants.
Listen to understand, not to respond.
Non-verbal communication is communication, too. Signals like facial expressions, eye contact, tone of voice and posture are important.
Feel your feelings — every emotion serves a purpose. Use “I feel” statements to help express your feelings. I feel [emotion] when you [action] because [why].
