Binghamton Club Ice Hockey is open to anyone interested in playing hockey. The team typically consists of 25 to 30 undergraduate and graduate students. Generally, a qualified volunteer coach with collegiate hockey experience oversees the team, but at times, team captains or leaders may handle the club's management.

The team practices twice a week throughout the academic year, starting in September. There are three ice arenas within a 15-minute drive from campus where the team practices and plays. SUNY Broome rink is where the team plays its home games, while Visions Memorial rink in Downtown Binghamton and the Chenango Ice House are the team's practice venues. The team's expenses, including ice time and travel costs, are covered by team contributions and annual fundraising efforts.

Binghamton Hockey typically plays a 20 to 30-game season, mostly on weekends. Common opponents include club teams from the University of Buffalo, Niagara University, Cornell University, Ithaca College, SUNY Cortland, St. Bonaventure University, among others. All games are officiated by USA Hockey-sanctioned referees
