Deadlines and Reminders 

Fall 2025 Degree Completion Deadlines

  1. Graduate Application for Degree (GAFD) submission: December 5
  2. Recommended deadline for electronic thesis/dissertation submission: December 5
  3. Final deadline for electronic thesis/dissertation submission: December 12
  4. Recommendation for Award form workflow submission: January 8, 2026


Reminder: If you  are completing a thesis or dissertation, you must adhere exactly to the formatting guidelines to avoid a delay in the acceptance of your final document and degree conferral.


Travel Grant Awards

The Graduate School supports graduate students in their research endeavors through various funding opportunities. You can find full information on travel grant awards on the Graduate School website. The next deadline is November 1 (for travel happening between Oct. 1 and Jan 31).

John S. McCain Strategic Defense Fellowship Program 

Applications will be accepted in October/November 2025.

Fellows have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to departmental leadership, receive valuable professional development, benefit from mentorship, and upon successful completion of the program may be eligible for appointment into permanent positions within the U.S. Department of Defense. To be eligible, applicants must be recent advanced degree graduates at the time of application and must apply within two years of advanced degree completion. Applicants expecting to graduate within 6 months are also eligible to apply.
