Ongoing CCE Funding Opportunities for Establishing Community-Based Learning, Teaching, and Research
Community Engagement Faculty Teaching and Research Enrichment Grants support faculty with up to $3,000 in related project expenses for one of three tracks: 1) teaching community-engaged learning (CEL) courses, 2) course-based community-engaged research. and 3) community-based research and scholarship. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) Course Development Stipends of $1,000 are available for developing a new or revised course that integrates community-engaged learning (CEL) and successfully obtains a CEL course designation. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Community Engaged Teaching Fellows Program provides a $2,000 stipend to faculty to be part of a community of practice that guides the design and implementation of effective community engaged research, teaching and learning. 2024-2025 Fellows applications are due Friday, June 7, 2024.

Join us for a Virtual Workshop: Opportunities for Funding, Establishing,
and Tracking Community-Based Learning, Teaching, and Research Friday, September 22, 11 am - 12 pm. The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) offers programs, events and resources for faculty/instructors interested in developing and sustaining high-impact community-based learning, teaching and research across all disciplines. This workshop will focus on funding opportunities to support this work through Community Engagement Faculty Teaching and Research Enrichment Grants, and Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) Course Development Stipends. It will also review guidance for designating CEL courses and through the Banner registration system, and tracking and showcasing faculty work through Collaboratory: An Online Community Engagement Database. The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is gathering local nonprofit and community organizations, international organizations, student groups and faculty members in one place to provide networking, collaboration, and community engagement opportunities in all facets of community life.
Haudenosaunee Festival September 29-30
To celebrate our engagement with local and regional Indigenous communities please attend the first Haudenosaunee Festival at Binghamton University held in collaboration with the Vestal Museum on September 29-30, 2023. This event is open to the general public, so invite your family and friends!
In the spirit of the Two Row Wampum—Gä•sweñta’ or The Silver Covenant Chain of Friendship the program will feature the university's Haudenosaunee neighbors that have called New York home for time immemorial. On Friday, September 29 at 11 am join us for the Harvest of the Three Sisters Garden in the Science 1 courtyard, and then at 3pm on the Peace Quad the Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation (NOON) will host a Witness to Injustice interactive program that relays to participants and audience members the history, colonization, and lived experience of Indigenous peoples from our region and across Turtle Island. On Saturday, September 30, from 10am-5pm on the Peace Quad engage with a stellar line up of nationally renowned members from the Haudenosaunee Confederacy that will include music, dance, food samples, videos, lectures, and art and crafts vendors.

The Center for Civic Engagement will Register your Students to Vote
The CCE is available to come to your class and assist your students with registering to vote, learning about the absentee or in-person voting process and answering questions about student voting rights and responsibilities. The CCE coordinates a nationally recognized, nonpartisan student voting program that has led to steady increases in student voter turnout.
A standard class presentation takes around 15-20 minutes. We also offer shorter and longer presentation options to better meet the needs of faculty and students. The New York voter registration deadline is Saturday, Oct. 28. Submit your requests early to accommodate as many classes as possible by clicking the link below.
