This community event will feature the renowned author of Hood Wellness: Tales of Communal Care from People Who Drowned on Dry Land, Tamela Gordon. Gordon will share with the audience ways to prioritize well-being while divesting from destructive systems that do the opposite. Gordon will take students and community members on her journey as a writer and focus on how creating spaces for storytelling can promote communal care. DDEI, Thrive within Therapies, PULSE, Apalachin Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., and Broome Community College are sponsors of this wellness event. This book talk will include lunch, a book signing session, and a networking opportunity at the University Downtown Center.
