What is the difference in audition styles?
Open Call Auditions are for acting and/or singing students with a prepared one-minute monologue, and 32 bars of a song. Callbacks are Nov. 23-Dec. 7. Dancers are encouraged to participate in No Fear auditions, Sweet Charity offers many opportunities for students who are strong dancers and most comfortable singing in a group. NOTE: Monologues DO NOT have to be Shakespeare to audition for Macbeth.
No Fear Auditions are perfect for students new to theatre and auditioning! Callbacks are Nov. 23-Dec. 7. No preparation required, just show up! Here are some choices in audition style for ‘No Fear’:
- Learn a song from Sweet Charity, and read a scene from Macbeth.
- Learn a song from Sweet Charity and do a one-minute monologue.
- Read a scene from Macbeth and sing 32 bars of a prepared song.
All students auditioning must sign up for your time slot on the Theatre Call Board, outside FA 127 starting Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. Record the time slot you sign up for and arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.
Musician call for Pit Orchestra: Guess what, you can earn academic credit for playing in our pit orchestra, how awesome is that?! We need everyone for our musical, Sweet Charity: Ready to play? Email Music Director, Robyn Womersley, to set up an audition.
