This guest lecture provides a holistic perspective on digital twins, exploring their fundamental concepts, definitions, and evolving role in complex systems.
The talk will discuss key characteristics that distinguish digital twins from traditional models and simulations.
It will highlight emerging frameworks and guidelines being developed to support consistent and effective digital twin implementation.
The lecture will offer students a broader systems-level understanding of how digital twins can be developed, evaluated, and applied across engineering domains.

Terry R. Hill has been with NASA for over 25 years and serves as the Digital Engineering Program Manager led out of NASA Head-quarters ’ Office of Chief Engineer and is responsible for providing a strategic and executable implementation approach for delivering digital engineering, MBSE methodology and interoperable tool chains to usher the agency into the modern world of DE design and SE.
