About Us
We pride ourselves as an organization of diverse collegiate and professional women dedicated to uplifting traditionally marginalized groups, specifically Latinx people and women. Since 1987, the Hermandad has been an outlet for professional development and personal growth to both its members and serving constituents. The sorority's impact can be seen in the outstanding accomplishments of our Hermanas, the young women being mentored enrolled in our LADYS and PEARLS Programs, and through the lives of people touched by our many initiatives—proof that women of color can make a difference. Though our sorority is Latina-based, Sigma Lambda Upsilon is not Latina-exclusive. We take pride in serving as a non-discriminatory organization comprised of women from all cultures, creeds, disabilities, political beliefs, and sexual preferences.
