Binghamton University's Second Annual National Day of Community Healing

Binghamton University recently earned the designation as a Truth, Community Healing, and Transformation (TCHT) Campus in fall 2025 and joins a distinguished network of 75 institutions. This year, we are proud to observe the 2nd annual National Day of Community Healing (NDOCH) on January 20, 2026, at the University Union in the Mandela Room, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Our theme this year is “Healing Begins with Us.” This collaborative event offers an opportunity for students, staff, faculty, and community members to join as ONE to reflect on our shared values and engage in healing activities that focus on relationship building and changing narratives to expand understanding based on diverse lived experiences.
Formally known as the National Day of Racial Healing, the event was established in 2017 by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation as part of its Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) initiative. This year’s key event will feature Denise “Circlemamma” Holliday, the co-author of Classroom Circles and Director of Coaching and School Support at EdTomorrow. In addition, the day will consist of a continental breakfast and a warm lunch meal, various circles, a research talk, and activities that will endorse forms of various healing through the arts and sharing ideas to promote equitable change for our nation

Parents Leadership Council Zoom Series: Reimagining Undergraduate Education at Binghamton: Innovation, AI, and Your Student's Future

Zoom Registration Link: https://binghamton.zoom.us/meeting/register/LD4XNIxUQWyW2kmnpxrwKg#/registration

The Parents Leadership Council (PLC) Zoom Series for January 2026 is here! The PLC at Binghamton University is hosting a series of virtual programs designed to familiarize family members with University resources that can better support their students' success.

How is Binghamton University preparing your students for future success? We invite you to a discussion about exciting changes and initiatives in undergraduate education at Binghamton. From tackling the complex challenges of artificial intelligence to launching innovative academic initiatives or increasing opportunities for high-impact experiences like undergraduate research, we know that the futures of our students are rooted in the educational experiences we provide today. And just as we are committed to keeping our academic initiatives relevant and rigorous, we are also committed to providing safety nets and support — things like academic support initiatives and reimagined First Year Experience courses — that help students navigate their journey with us. Join us for a conversation about our commitment to help your students not just succeed but reach new heights.

Featured presenters will include: Donald Loewen, vice provost for undergraduate education; Paul Gorelik, associate director for undergraduate education; Steve Ortiz, executive director of Binghamton University Scholars Program; Amber Stallman, registrar and assistant provost for student success.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
