Details

International Student Orientation will include a combination of pre-recorded videos  and programs that you can attend in-person. The pre-recorded videos will cover a variety of important topics for new students including health insurance, immigration regulations, and more. The interactive in-person components taking place on Thursday, January 11, 2024 will allow new international students to engage with one another, make connections, and get to know more about the Binghamton University campus.

Do you have questions after watching the orientation videos? Join the ISSS advising team for this opportunity to meet the advisors and get answers to your questions.

Come learn the ins and outs of thriving at Binghamton! In this informative session, we will talk about the importance of getting involved outside of the classroom, the best places to look for in-person & virtual involvement opportunities, as well as what clubs, groups and organizations to join and more. We will also discuss tips for adjusting to life in the US and some health and safety reminders.

How to Achieve Academic Success (International Student Orientation)

Spring 2024 International Student Orientation!

The first step to success is understanding the resources available to you both on and off-campus. In this session, new students will have the opportunity to learn more about U.S. academic expectations and culture while interacting with other participants. Some topics that will be discussed include: tips for success, in-class participation, group work, school/life balance, time management, tutoring, and writing assistance.

Bus Trip to Town Square Mall via #47 (International Student Orientation)

Spring 2024 International Student Orientation!

Want to learn how to take the public bus? See a local movie theater, supermarket (Walmart), and ice cream shop? Learn more about the area surrounding campus?

Leadership volunteers (volunteers who are continuing students) will then join you on the 3:30pm #47 Bus to travel to the Town Square Mall. Leadership volunteers and participants will then take the 5:05 pm #47 Bus back to campus. You should be back to campus by 5:40 pm. Bring your student ID so that you can ride the bus for free.
