On Saturday, April 22nd from 3-5 PM we will be hosting a Creative Works Night at the
Undergrounds Coffeehouse on the lower level of Binghamton University's Old Union. This night will serve as a fundraiser for the Matthew Lee Dolsky Memorial Scholarship. Matt was a brother of Tau Epsilon Phi when he attended Binghamton and he
graduated in 2014. He went on to be an elementary school teacher in the Bronx and Queens. The Dolsky family, along with the Baldwin Senior High School community, have started a scholarship in Matt Lee's name. Matt Lee was an outgoing, creative, loving person,
and the scholarship will be given to students who have similar qualities in them.
Matt was known for giving people great nicknames, enjoying some classical music and always having genuine and sometimes odd conversations. However, his most notable hobby was
writing poetry. He wrote poems about friends, family, his life, his dog, and sometimes even love. We could think of no better way to honor him than to have a night where we ask people to share their creative work. We will be reading some of his poems,
members of TEP will be reading their own written pieces, and we encourage everyone to come and share their own work as well. Although this event is for a serious cause, a serious night wouldn’t be the right way to celebrate his life and his works. You are
welcome to share stories or poems that are funny, serious, or anywhere in-between. Admission to this event will be
FREE, we will be serving food and refreshments as well as accepting donations. All the proceeds will be going to the scholarship fund, which will provide one graduating senior with a $250 scholarship
for the next 20 years.
Can't Make the Event but Still Want to Help? We are also accepting donations to our GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/matt-dolsky-memorial-scholarship) and our Venmo (@TEP_Bing,
please just specify it's a donation toward the cause)
