Haudenosaunee Festival 2025: Artisans and Vendors

The fourth annual Haudenosaunee Festival at Binghamton University celebrates the culture of the Haudenosaunee people who have been stewards of the land on which Binghamton University exists for time immemorial.

During the Festival on Friday and Saturday there will be artists and vendors stationed at the Peace Quad. Please come by to support and browse!

Thursday, Sept. 11
10 – 11 a.m.: Festival Opening and Three Sisters Garden Harvest; Location: Science 1 Courtyard

11 a.m. – noon: Chris Thomas and Smoke Dancers ; Location: Science 1 Courtyard

4–5:30 pm: "Witness at Standing Rock”
Suzanne Halbritter (Onondaga, Eel clan) will speak about her experience between November 2016 and February 2017, photographing events at the Standing Rock Protests organized to prevent the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. She was among many Haudenosaunee and other Indigenous people who gathered to support the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe; Location: Binghamton University Art Museum, Main Gallery

Friday, Sept. 12
9 a.m. – noon: Canoe in the Spirit of Two-Row Wampum; Opening Ceremony by Hickory Edwards at Otisiningo Park; Led by Hickory Edwards and River Rick; Location: Otsiningo Park to Confluence Park

noon – 5 p.m.: Artisans and Vendors; Location: Peace Quad

1 – 3:30 p.m.: Witness to Injustice (invitation only); Location: Peace Quad

3 – 4:30 p.m.: Sherri Hopper and the Haudenosaunee Singers and Dancers; Location: Fine Arts, Studio B (Sponsored by the Binghamton University School of the Arts)

5:30 – 7 p.m.: Chris Thomas and Smoke Dancers; Location: Peace Quad

7 – 9 p.m.: Contemporary Music Band: Sacred Medicine musical performance; Location: Peace Quad

Saturday, Sept. 13
10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: Opening Address; Location: Peace Quad

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Lacrosse Youth Clinic with Professional Lacrosse Players; History and clinic by Hiana Thompson and Jerome Thompson Sr.; Locations: see below

10:30 – 11 am: History of Lacrosse; Location: Peace Quad

11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Lacrosse Clinic; Location: College in the Woods (turf field)

11 a.m. – noon: Storytelling for Children of All Ages: Perry Ground; Location: Peace Quad (main tent)

Noon – 2 p.m.: Contemporary Music Band: Sacred Medicine musical performance; Location: Peace Quad (main tent)

2 – 3 p.m.: Panel: Water Ideology, Led by Curtis Waterman; Location: Peace Quad (main tent)

3 – 3:45 p.m.: Panel: Renewing Waterways, Led by Hickory Edwards; Location: Peace Quad (main tent)
