Please join us for the Alumni Recital: Ricky Nan, tenor on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Casadesus Recital Hall! Join us as alumni, Ricky Nan, tenor, returns to campus for a residency recital. Ricky has been an active cross over singer and actor since graduating in 2015 from Binghamton. Ricky will be in residence and giving masterclasses and lessons from October 1-3. His Alumni Recital is free and open to the public.

Artist Bio:
Born in Wuhan and raised in Guangzhou, China, Ricky Feng Nan 南枫 is a Chinese tenor and singing actor whose career spans opera, musical theatre, film, concert performance, and television. Equally at home in classical and contemporary repertoire, he has performed throughout the United States and China, with appearances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, on Off Broadway stages in New York, and in major nationally televised productions reaching audiences across China.

Ricky first gained national recognition through appearances on the Chinese television programs Super Vocal (声⼊⼈⼼) and The City of Musicals (爱乐之都). He has since become a frequent guest artist on major televised concerts and gala performances. His performance of Serious Classical Suite (正经美声) on CCTV-1’s Chinese New Year Web Gala became a viral success, with related videos accumulating more than 150 million views across digital platforms. In 2025, he performed Ode to the Yangtze River (⻓江之歌) for CCTV’s New Year programming. His other television and concert appearances include the Beijing Great Wall Concert, Liyang Rice Field Music Festival, Guangdong Television Spring Festival Gala, Beijing Television special programs, and New York Chinese Television’s Lunar New Year Gala.

On the operatic and concert stage, Ricky has performed with ensembles and companies including China Opera Theatre Orchestra, Tianjin Opera Orchestra, Shenzhen Grand Theatre Philharmonic Orchestra, Suzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Guangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, The Orchestra Now, Central City Opera, Opera Theatre of Connecticut, and Tri-Cities Opera. In 2019, he made his Carnegie Hall debut as a soloist in the world premiere of Zhou Long’s symphonic cantata Men of Iron and the Golden Spike.

His stage repertoire includes the title role in Marco Polo, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Young Gypsy in Aleko, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Martin in The Tender Land, and Lu Jiachuan in Song of the Youth. Expanding increasingly into musical theatre and dramatic performance, Ricky appeared as Guo Xiaoguo in the 2025 Off-Broadway production of The Garden Bridge at Classic Stage Company in New York and portrayed Richard Loeb in the Cantonese production of Stephen Dolginoff’s Thrill Me. In 2026, he originated the leading role of Zheng Yi, the Pirate King, in the new Chinese musical The Pirate Queen (她的海), produced by Xu Jun Studio.

Beyond the stage, Ricky has appeared in leading roles in the films Autumn in New York, Snafu, Teal Blue Echoes, and Jazz Is for Ordinary People.

Ricky received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University (SUNY) and holds two Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and the Yale School of Music.
