Join us for April's Culture Chat in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month! This month's first special guest is Professor Yeonjin Kim, who will share insights from her Jogakbo workshops—a traditional Korean patchwork practice—conducted with underserved communities in Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx. She will discuss how these workshops and her public installations foster connections across diverse communities and reflect on how her upbringing in South Korea under dictatorship has shaped her artistic practice. Through her work, Professor Kim addresses themes of social justice and personal history.
This event, held during AAPI Heritage Month, is a unique opportunity to explore how art and tradition can break barriers and inspire social change!
