Spend two and a half weeks this summer in the region of Blantyre in Malawi, engaging in service learning with the Malawi Children’s Mission (MCM) through an asset-based community development approach. The program offers 4 elective credits in Social Work or Sociology, and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Students will participate in afterschool programming for youth, engage with families and caregivers in MCM, and experience cultural immersion activities. Explore the social, political, historical, cultural and ethical dimensions of international engagement while investigating what local development looks like in practice.

Join this virtual session to learn more and meet one of the faculty leaders! Click here to read more about the program and apply for the summer 2026 program.
