In the age of social media, employers, groups and institutions all need expert communicators who can craft compelling messages that engage audiences across multiple platforms.
This workshop will provide a crash course in the essential concepts and methods behind successful digital communications, including how to:
- Create and manage a social media presence for an organization or institution
- Develop engaging multimedia content that speaks to your audience
- Craft press releases, event descriptions and other announcements for the broader public
- Evaluate the effectiveness of your messaging using social media metrics
Who Is Leading This Workshop?
Ryan Yarosh is the Senior Director of Media & Public Relations for Binghamton University. He has more than 20 years of experience in media relations, issues management, social media and video production. He currently oversees social media and public relations activities for the University.
Who Is This Workshop For?
Harpur students from all disciplines and backgrounds are welcome. However, the topics covered in this workshop may be of particular interest to students interested in careers in business, communications and marketing, as well as for students who handle social media outreach for campus offices, organizations or student groups. (Note: This workshop is NOT open to Watson, Decker, SOM, CCPA, or Decker students, or to graduate students.)
