What Is This Crash Course About? Professional Development Skill-building!
Learn the essence of digital storytelling and how to develop engaging online content to build a brand. This workshop will provide a crash course in the essential concepts and methods behind successful digital communications, including how to:
  • Learn new insights into communications and marketing and why it's thriving in the age of COVID 
  • Create and manage a social media presence for an organization or institution. 
  • Utilize FB/IG ads, analytics and targeting to help a brand standout.  
  • Develop engaging multimedia content that speaks to a targeted audience.
  • Work with media to reach the broader public.
  • Participants will also have the opportunity to analyze the communications efforts of a real-world business, as well as come up with a communications plan for that business. 
The Rumble Ponies and Every Dog's Dream Rescue have asked for assistance in developing a social media marketing plan which participants will tackle during the workshop.  

Who Is Leading This Crash Course?
Ryan Yarosh is the Senior Director of Media & Public Relations for Binghamton University. He has more than 20 years of experience in media relations, issues management, social media and video production. He currently oversees social media and public relations activities for the University. 

Also, special guest Jacob Wilkins will discuss the path he took to achieve success as a sports broadcaster and the importance of building relationships.

Jacob is currently the lead broadcaster for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the New York Mets Double-A Affiliate. He also works in the Binghamton University Office of Media and Public Relations, where he hosts the Bearcat Chats video series. Previously, Jacob anchored reports for WFAN, CBS Sports Radio, and Sirius XM Radio, along with broadcasting games for LIU Brooklyn. At FAN, Jacob has also filled in hosting the Yankees Postgame Show, along with contributing to the station’s Giants, Devils, and Nets coverage. In addition, Jacob has voiced highlights with mlb.com and served as a sports anchor for 1010 WINS in New York City. Jacob began his career broadcasting games with the Hudson Valley Renegades, the Tampa Bay Rays short-season minor league affiliate. Jacob currently serves on the Alumni Society Board for his alma mater, Penn State University's Bellisario College of Communications.
