Join Harpur Edge and certified Motivational Interviewing expert, Angie Dellapenna to learn the skills involved in Motivational Interviewing. Motivational Interviewing is a skill used in healthcare, human services, supervision and other professions to foster rapport building and authentic relationships. Skills participants will gain include: ask-tell-ask, use of open-ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries, listening skills specific to coding change talk vs sustain talk, rolling with resistance, and advancing the use of reflections. Motivational Interviewing is the skill set used by mental health practitioners so if you are considering a career in healthcare, this session is a must! This session will be highly interactive- bring a friend, but remember seats are limited so sign up on B-engaged to secure your spot.
