This GSO and GSEU Sponsored Workshop is designed to present graduate national and international students with resources, tools and techniques for increasing self-advocacy. Power dynamics can be intimidating, even more so for new or returning graduate students, this workshop aims to demystify the academic power structure, and teach graduate students what their rights are, attention will be given to national, international, undocumented students, and particularly graduate employees. Students will walk away more knowledgeable of what is and is not acceptable behavior in both a working and professional setting and when they should seek additional support.
