Researchers sometimes find it challenging to communicate about their work to non-experts. Would you like to develop a clear and concise “pitch” about your work? Join us for this seminar and learn some techniques you can employ to boost the impact of your research as you communicate with audiences beyond your own discipline.

This workshop will be led by Rachel Coker, executive director of research advancement at Binghamton University, who will do just about anything to get people excited about research. She writes stories and media releases on topics ranging from physics to fiction and serves as the speechwriter for the vice president for research. A former newspaper journalist, she graduated from the University of Rochester and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
