Skills Lab: I wasn't prepared for that! Conquering the teaching demo

How do you keep your cool while navigating the unexpected? The exciting day comes when you are going in for a teaching interview. You prepared note cards and practiced all the questions that could be asked in a teacher interview. As soon as you sit down, you receive curveball questions, then are asked to teach a lesson on the spot without preparation. This workshop will teach you how to handle the on-the-spot demo lesson as well as navigate some of the unconventional questions that could arise in your teacher interviews.

Brittany Bush, a teacher at Binghamton High School, has worked in a variety of schools around New York. In this lab, a variety of skills will be covered, such as creating a demo lesson for a teaching interview. Additionally, creating no-prep lesson plans for on-the-spot demo lessons.
