This engaging talk will boost your effectiveness and confidence by revealing the inner thoughts of technical interviewers and explaining how to use that knowledge to best prepare and present yourself. You will leave with a set of proven concepts & tactics you can apply at your next interview. By the end of this session, you will know the most important characteristics companies are looking for, understand the interviewer’s thought process, be able to present yourself in the best possible light and stand out from the crowd, be prepared with the best way to handle not knowing an answer, and understand the best kinds of questions to ask your interviewer.
Target audience: Juniors, seniors, and graduate students in mechanical and electrical engineering — though all students are welcome to attend.

Speaker facts: Andy Willner has interviewed hundreds of engineers, led recruiting teams, and trained interviewers & interviewees. He graduated from Binghamton, Cornell, and NTU and spent his career developing new products and mentoring engineering talent at Pratt & Whitney, Texas Instruments, and Sensata Technologies. In 2021, he co-founded CAEDENCE Consulting LLC where his team leads operational excellence projects, product development & manufacturing issue resolution, and business transformations. He is a sought-after mentor in CAEDENCE’s leadership and professional development coaching programs. Andy volunteers in Binghamton's Mentor Match Program and has previously spoken about career skills for Binghamton's Alumni Learning Network, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, UVM, IEEE, SAE, and other academic and professional organizations.
