Interested in being a substitute teacher? The superintendent of the Chenango Valley central school district is coming in to give. arun down of what it means to substitute teach, what the application looks like, and a Q&A. He will also be handing out applications on the spot!

About Dr. Larry Dake:
Dr. Larry Dake is the Superintendent of Schools for the Chenango Valley Central School District. Since 2011, he has served as an administrator overseeing curriculum and data, serving as a building principal, and since 2016, as an Assistant Superintendent. Before that, he was a Social Studies teacher in the Vestal Central School District and served stints as Student Government Advisor and Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.

As an Assistant Superintendent across two districts, Dr. Dake served as the point person on Prek-12 Instruction, Personnel/Human Resources, and Budget. He also served as a Rotarian and was a board member of the Broome County Arts Council and the Greater Binghamton Educational Outreach Program (GBEOP).

Originally from Walton, NY, in Delaware County, Dr. Dake attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, for his undergraduate degree and then Binghamton University for their master’s program, Certificate of Advanced Studies, and finally, Doctorate in Educational Theory and Practice, finishing the final program in 2014
