Add-On Session: Search Committee Orientation

Please note: This is an additional session and marks the conclusion of our current training offerings. No further sessions will be held until Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

This Search Committee Orientation is ideal for search committee members, chairs, hiring managers, and department administrators. The workshop addresses key components of equitable and inclusive hiring practices, including:

Recognizing and mitigating bias early in the search process

Building inclusive and effective search committees

Crafting inclusive job descriptions

Understanding the timeline and submission process for required search documentation

This two-hour session is strongly recommended for all search committee chairs and members who have not completed the training within the past year or in need on immediate training to search on a search committee now. It is part of our continuing efforts to strengthen equitable recruitment practices at Binghamton University.

Participants need to attend only one session.
