DEI Search Committee Orientation

Search committee orientation training is required for all faculty and staff who serve on campus search committees and have not been trained in the last two years. The training is conducted via Zoom and reviews all search forms and procedures for our current process. The training will cover unconscious bias in the hiring process, characteristics of good search committees and the legal framework for Affirmative Action policies and practices in hiring.

Participants need only attend one of the sessions, which occur on alternate teaching schedules (Once monthly on a Mon, Wed, Fri. schedule and once monthly on the Tues/Thurs schedule) to accommodate our faculty who teach. While DEI plans to move the search process online, we will continue to provide training for search committee members. RSVP via B-Engaged. The scheduled trainings this semester are as follows:

March 2024 Trainings are: Tuesday March 5th 1-3pm OR
Friday March 8th 1-3pm
April 2024 Trainings are: Monday, April 8th 1-3pm OR
Wednesday, April 10th 1-3pm
May 2024 Trainings are: Wednesday May 1st 1-3pm
Thursday May 2nd 1-3pm
June 2024 Trainings are: Monday June 10th 1-3pm
Tuesday June 11th 1-3pm
