A virtual networking opportunity to speak with Decker Alumni Christie Liguori. Christie graduated from Decker School of Nursing in May of 2023. She started nursing school with the hopes of going into the operating room, but her plans changed as time went on. As a junior in college, she had the rewarding opportunity of a Summer Externship in the Cardiac Surgical ICU at NYU Langone Long Island. This experience allowed her to recognize her passion for ICU nursing, and how critical nurses are in these settings. Throughout senior year, she remained in contact with this unit with the goal of working there upon graduation. In July of 2023, she began working as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Surgical ICU. She now work closely with physician assistants, doctors, respiratory therapists, and more to implement an individualized plan of care for critical patients. She is extremely grateful for my job, and learns something new each and every day. She is looking forward to speaking with nursing students and providing them with any insight she may have!
