Join the Creative Writing Program and the Distinguished Writers Series for an evening with novelist and nonfiction writer Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi. All are welcome. Free and open to the public. No need to register.

Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi is the author of Savage Tongues, Call Me Zebra, and Fra Keeler. She has received a Whiting Award and a National Book Foundation "5 Under 35" award and is the 2023-2024 Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Foundation Fiction Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard University. Born in Los Angeles, she spent her childhood in Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Spain, and she speaks Farsi, Italian, and Spanish. Oloomi is the Dorothy G. Griffin College Professor of English at the University of Notre Dame.
