ELI Conversation Pairs is a volunteer program in which native speakers of English are paired with non-native English (ELL/ESL/EFL/ELI) speaking students and asked to spend at least one hour a week together in conversation. The purpose of the program is to give ELL students more opportunities to converse in English outside of the classroom and to provide them with a person whom they can question about American language and culture. In addition, the native speakers benefit from the opportunity to get to know someone from another culture and sometimes even learn another language too.

This semester, Conversation Pairs will be virtual! Applications are open until midnight on Thursday, February 25th (applications will still be accepted after this date, but your chances of being assigned a partner may be reduced). Conversation partners assignments will be sent out by the end of the day on Monday, March 1st.
