Mission
Founded in 1988, Asian Outlook is the art, literary and news magazine of the Asian Student Union at Binghamton University - SUNY. Conceived and designed to challenge and re-conceptualize forms of awareness of Asians and Asian-Americans, it serves to protect the voice of those in the minority, whether by ethnicity, gender, sexual or political orientation.

We work to protect the voice of anyone interested in using the magazine as their vehicle of self-expression since we are not an Asian exclusive publication.

Mission
Asian Student Union (ASU) is one of the largest cultural organizations in Binghamton University (SUNY). Representing roughly 20% of its Asian and Asian American undergraduate/graduate students, ASU along with our seven subgroups, serve to defy stereotypes, define culture, maintain a sense of tradition, and what it is to be Asian American in today's world.

Our subgroups include Asian Outlook (AO), Binghamton University Japanese Association (BUJA), Chinese American Student Union (CASU), Korean American Student Association (KASA), Philippine-American League (PAL), Taiwanese American Student Coalition (TASC), and Vietnamese Student Association (VSA).

ASU and its subgroups host events that uplift the diverse community that is representative of the Asian/American and Pacific Islander community. Varying from annual cultural showcases such as "Asian Night" and Barrio to night markets, food-making and craft-making workshops, becoming a general body member of one organization means that you join them all.

Mission
The Vietnamese Student Association's goals are to educate ourselves and the University about Vietnamese culture and issues related to the Vietnamese community, to increase the Vietnamese representation in organizations which are supposed to serve the Asian community, to encourage cultural, social and political awareness among Asian and Asian-American students, to promote interaction with other cultural unions, to provide the Student Association with an Asian and Asian-American perspective, and to help new students adjust to university life. VSA is a sub-group of the Asian Student Union (ASU) along with its six other members, Asian Outlook, the Binghamton University Japanese Association, the Chinese American Student Union, the Korean American Student Association, the Philippine American League, and the Taiwanese American Student Coalition. With this large organization, a major goal is to promote unity and boost confidence among Asian and Asian-American students.
