Help us transform an overgrown nursing home courtyard into a beautiful, functional garden for residents.

This project is possible by grant funding through 9/11 National Day of Service. Additional project supporters include Partners for Campus-Community Engagement (PCCE) and Americorps. 9/11 National Day of Service is the largest annual day of service in the United States, with more than 30 million people participating each year through acts of kindness, charity and volunteerism.

What You'll Do:

Weeding & Raking: Clear out overgrown areas and remove leaves.

Pruning & Planting: Trim shrubs and plant new flowers to add color and life.

Tidying & Organizing: Clean up pathways to make the space accessible and safe.

Your Impact:
This courtyard is a key feature of the facility, especially for residents in the memory care unit. Your efforts will directly improve their access to a pleasant outdoor environment, offering them a space for peace, reflection, and beauty.

When: Friday, September 12th

Meet-Up: 9:30 AM at the University Union Bus Stop and return to campus by 12:45pm

Transportation: FREE OCCT bus transportation provided.

When volunteers return, we will enjoy pizza!
