Get your hands dirty and make a real impact! Join Binghamton University and VINES to transform a vacant lot located at 179 Floral Avenue in Johnson City into a vibrant community garden. Tasks will include general site clean-up, constructing and filling raised garden beds with soil, spreading mulch, and planting. This vital project will allow members of the Johnson City community to grow their own fresh food, converting a blighted space into a vibrant and productive greenspace.

This project is possible by grant funding through 9/11 National Day of Service. Additional project supporters include Partners for Campus-Community Engagement (PCCE) and Americorps. 9/11 National Day of Service is the largest annual day of service in the United States, with more than 30 million people participating each year through acts of kindness, charity and volunteerism.

We are partnering with VINES, a local non-profit dedicated to creating a more sustainable and just food system.

When: Friday, September 12th

Meet-Up: 9:30 AM at the University Union Bus Stop and return to campus by 12:45pm

Transportation: FREE OCCT bus transportation provided.
