Are you interested in the entertainment/media industry (film, television, podcasts, content creation)? Do you have a passion for documentary/unscripted TV series and are curious how to start a career? Join Evan Lerner ‘96, an Emmy nominated executive producer, former network executive and showrunner, as he shares insights into the inner workings of the entertainment and media industry. Evan has two decades of experience in the entertainment industry — having produced series for Netflix, HBO, A&E, History and more. He is currently the Head of Development for MY Entertainment, a production company based in New York City.

Registration is required and space is limited.
Lerner will discuss how he navigated the industry and walk attendees through the steps of the pitching process, while informing them about the responsibilities of his positions over the years. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how and where they can source information to curate a strong pitch for a network. This Skills Lab will expose students to the various creative and production avenues within film and television, coming from the perspective of a seasoned professional.

Practice thinking critically and searching for engaging ideas.
Explore the skills and experience needed to start a career in the industry.
Learn about potential career opportunities and the diversity of positions in unscripted/documentary television.
