Catskill Mountain Snowshoe Hike

The winter scenery only serves to make a mountain summit all the more worth your effort to climb it! Slide mountain offers some of the best views in the Catskills, as one of only two peaks over 4000'. The fragrance of balsam fir trees on this summit add to this high mountain experience. Bring along a small pack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of water for the day. Sturdy winter boots are highly recommended. Essential clothing for the weather is a must (non-cotton long underwear, socks, hat, mittens and synthetic jacket). Bring extra money for a food stop. Outdoor Pursuits can provide winter boots.
