Thankful for the Big Mountains Hike with Campus Recreation

Rocky slopes of this summit (3140 feet) make this one of the most geologically interesting day hikes in the Catskills. Waiting at the top is a fire tower with an additional 60 feet in height! The open ledges of Overlook's peak offer spectacular vistas of the Hudson River valley, Devils Path and the Ashokan Reservoir. Bring along a small pack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. Essential clothing for the weather is a must (non-cotton socks, hat, mittens and synthetic jacket). It will be windy at the top. This is a challenging hike. Meet the BOP van in front of the East Gym at 7:45 a.m.

Sign up in person at the Outdoor Pursuits office (EG-10) by Friday, November 4. The $20 fee covers your guide, transportation, and all equipment you might need.
