Mission
Dedicated to the theme of "Unity in Heritage," and the principles of self-determination, self
awareness, and unity, the Black Student Union, founded in 1968, will strive to unite and educate
students of African descent about their cultural heritage. By promoting community service and
stressing academic excellence, the Black Student Union will develop students into active leaders
in the struggle for Black liberation.
