In this 4th Bitcoin Workshop of the semester, you'll learn how to run a Bitcoin node, i.e. having your own full copy of the Bitcoin blockchain. Running nodes is extremely important for Bitcoin because the more that are run, the more decentralized - and therefore secure, immutable and censor-resistant - the system is. Also, by running your own node, you're able to verify transactions on chain. That is important for several reasons, from reducing your own transaction costs to the bare minimum (of sat/vB) to being able to ensure valid data (for example, histories).
