For the remainder of the semester, the Bitcoin Studies Spring 2025 workshops will be held in the Watson School of Engineering’s fabrication lab. In the lab, you will learn how to use the core features of Bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus mechanism: a decentralized global network of nodes and miners (ASICs running an algorithm to add blocks to the chain and generate new BTC). In these workshops, you will experiment with nodes and miners to create a decentralized cloud network, use AI to run DeFi and Humanities processes, and deploy mining tools to recycle energy and heat. The fourth workshop focuses on nodes.
Whatever your position on Bitcoin is, whatever your interest is, whatever your existing knowledge is, you are welcome into our Bitcoin Studies workshops. We have five formal workshops per semester. If you attend all five, you will be part of the only university cohort in the country earning a comprehensive skillset in Bitcoin, from Bitcoin basics to running nodes, mining, and more.
