Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, or who is experiencing a crisis.

Classes use a blended learning format, including 4- 6 hours of pre-course work (must be completed by 5 pm on Friday, November 10) and 6-8 hours of in-person training. Registration is required, contact bhealthy@binghamton.edu to register, indicating your status as a student.

Class capacity is limited, please register only if you are willing to meet the pre-course work requirement and attend the full day of training.

Completion of the blended training leads to a 3-year certification. Certification costs are covered by B-Healthy- Healthy Campus Initiative.

Session will be held in UUW-324 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
