Thea will share examples of successful learning communities with decreased stressors, improved learning and increased student resilience. Join this session to learn specific strategies utilized by faculty members, in addition to discussing considerations for overcoming obstacles, gaining buy-in and building a network of educational partners.

This virtual session is part of the Healthy Campus Summit Spring Series, sponsored by the Healthy Campus Initiative: B-Healthy. These sessions of March 28 and April 25 are designed for faculty and staff but the entire Binghamton University community is welcome to attend.

About the presenter:
Dr. Thea Woodruff coordinates the Well-Being in Learning Environments project at the Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) at the University of Texas at Austin. On this project, Dr. Woodruff works with faculty to embed practices for improving student well-being in their classes. She also teaches courses as a lecturer in the College of Education. Before working at the CMHC, Dr. Woodruff worked as a researcher, professional development creator, and technical assistance provider at the Meadows Center for Prevention of Educational Risk at UT Austin. She has also worked as a district-level administrator in a school district and as a consultant supporting state-, district-, and campus-level literacy initiatives.
