About Us

Binghamton American Parliamentary Debate Association (BAPDA) offers a great opportunity to hone public speaking skills, develop your analytical reasoning, and make new friends. No debate experience is necessary and we're always happy to welcome new members! Our team varies in levels of competitiveness and you can be as competitive as you would like. We focus on supporting our members in developing and improving their debate skills.

Our Debate Style

Parliamentary Debate differs from other styles as it allows cases about any topic from social justice, pop culture, feminism, philosophy, international relations, and more.It focuses more on ideas and thinking on your feet rather than speaking style or formality when giving speeches. No debate experience is necessary, but we also have members who have debated in high school and can help with transitions from different formats.

Online and In-person  tournaments

We attend tournaments with colleges and universities around the Northeast!
