VITA sites provide free basic income tax return preparation, including electronic filing, for low-income individuals and families. VITA is an excellent opportunity for students to gain both work experience in financial economics and Individual taxation. As well as obtaining IRS tax certification for resume building. They will also be actively engaging with and providing aid to those in need in Broome County. Last year our volunteers prepared over 1,200 federal and NYS income tax returns. Students may also apply for internship credit through Binghamton University after consultation with their advisors. After reviewing the program , we will explain how Interested students can submit their resumes and the interview and acceptance process.
