Upcoming Events
10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
You've heard a lot about accessibility lately, but it's more than a compliance checkbox or a deadline on a calendar. Disability activists and advocates have struggled for gains over many years, often working against a system that wasn't designed for them. Learn where we stand today with accessibility laws and policies, where we've come from to get here, and where we can expect to go in the future.
11:15 AM – 12:00 PM
Shift your workflow from fixing accessibility issues after the fact to applying fundamental principles as you create, making compliance an integral part of your process. This session provides actionable tips and hacks to create documents that are accessible from the start, saving time and reducing stress compared to relying solely on post-creation checkers. Learn the importance of using accessible templates and discover practical techniques to build documents that meet digital requirements every time.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Ask the experts about anything accessibility-related: policy, classroom accessibility, non-standard stuff, tools & techniques, etc.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Learn the essential role of the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) in technology purchasing across contracts, purchase orders and even PCards. Learn how to obtain a VPAT from vendors, how to interpret it, and where to turn when you have questions about a specific VPAT. Finally, participants will practice analyzing the risk level for non-compliant products.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Learn how to utilize Canva and Adobe Express to create accessible graphics and images. This workshop focuses on utilizing alt-text, color contrast and grouping to make your assets more accessible.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
In this workshop you will learn to build accessible presentations form the start, with templates, master layouts, proper structure, alt-text, and color contrast.
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
This session demonstrates using Adobe Acrobat Pro’s Accessibility Tools. You will learn essential techniques like how to use the Accessibility Checker to diagnose issues, when to apply OCR to scanned files to make text readable, and how to manipulate the crucial tag tree to correct reading order and establish proper structure. The first 30 minutes will be reserved for lunch.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
This crash course will demystify major web accessibility requirements, covering essential elements like proper use of alt text, document structure, accessible tables, guidelines for multimedia, and techniques for ensuring effective color contrast and keyboard navigation. The session will include a live demonstration of applying these principles within the Modern Campus / Omni Update CMS, providing staff with actionable steps to keep their sites compliant.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
