Annual Essence of R&B Showcase

The Essence of R&B Showcase is an annual performance by the members of Undivided. Organized by the Executive board and conducted by our music directors, the event takes place as each of the organization’s performing members are given the opportunity to sing a song that resonates with them both vocally and spiritually. Throughout the course of the year, performing members are challenged with preparing a song that is unfamiliar or difficult for them. They then work both individually and with assistance from the music directors to improve and execute their solo performance.
Throughout the night, guests get to experience the fruit of the practice, dedication and passion of our performing members. This is demonstrated within the harmonies of popular songs, as well as the added and modified melodies that reflect the individuality of the performer.
One by one, the performers take the stage and mesmerize the crowd. The night never ends without tears, and we are here to bring life to the campus through the melodies in our hearts.
After a quick intermission, the audience is introduced to the people behind it all: those who made it possible, not only this amazing event, but those who keep this organization standing and growing for the third year in a row. This event serves as a thank you message to our general body, organizations and faculty that have supported us through the year.
As the event comes to an end, all members of the organization will bid all our wonderful guests a good night, and send them off with a message of unity, as the world is best when it is Undivided.
