About the Sweat-Sisterhood

We, as college women, recognize that more than 23 million children and teenagers, 68.6% of adults, and 82% of Black women are obese or overweight in the United States. Because of this, we realize the necessity of forming an organization to study and solve this health issue and the problems associated with it. Therefore this Sweat Sisterhood is to cultivate a community of active students, train future health leaders, erase the ingrained negative perceptions sweat holds, encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity and friendship, and keep alive an interest in healthy living.

Join a sisterhood that promotes healthy living while also creating new friendships. You will be apart of a safe space that encourages and supports all self-identifying women to live healthier lifestyles. Come participate in our bi-weekly sweatshops (fitness workshops at Binghamton University), Girls Chit Chat Series, and Charitable annual events.
