Help protect survivors by joining DOVE the 20:1 Prevention Program for a letter-writing campaign in support of NYS Senate Bill S54! FREE snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The purpose of NYS Senate Bill S54 is to "prohibit the use of intoxication of the victim as a defense in sex crimes where the victim is under the extreme influence of any substance." In other words, this bill is meant to close a legal loophole centered around victim-blaming that allows the voluntary intoxication of the victim to be used as a defense for the perpetrator's inexcusable actions. YOU can help protect survivors by joining us to contact your representatives and voice your support of this bill. Make your voice heard! All necessary materials will be provided, just show up (and enjoy a snack or two)!
